What is Visual Kei?
Visual Kei is Japan’s version of glam rock mixed with punk and goth where bands dress in bold, artistic, and sometimes gender-bending outfits, and their music can range from heavy metal to pop-rock. It's all about combining striking visuals with emotional, dramatic music. Bands like X Japan and the GazettE are some popular examples of Visual Kei.
Where are your items sourced from?
We travel to Japan yearly to attend concerts and events, sourcing official band merchandise to bring back to Canada. Every item we offer is 100% authentic and directly supports Visual Kei bands. We also share live updates on our social media platforms from the events we attended and showcase the merchandise we've picked up!
Are you only located in Alberta, Canada?
Yes, but we would love to visit other provinces when the time comes!
How do I place an order?
We are currently working on our online sales page. Please contact us on our social media platforms and our staff will be glad to discuss any questions of bands and items you are looking for.
Do you ship internationally?
We do offer international shipping from Canada to a number of selected countries. To see if we ship to your location, please click on the "Contact" tab and message us!
What payment do you accept?
We accept cash (storefront), debit, credit cards & PayPal. If it is online, we will send a payment link by using Square.
Can I pay in advanced and pick it up at the upcoming conventions?
Absolutely! When we announce our convention appearances, just let us know which conventions you would like to pick up your order at and we will have it ready for you.
Do you provide Shopping Service?
We are currently exploring the possibility of launching an online shopping service. In the meantime, Shopping Service for band merchandise is only available at our scheduled events during our visits to Japan. Please note that due to scheduling conflicts, venue accessibility, and high demand for certain items, we may not be able to attend specific live performances or obtain requested items.
Are the posters at your booth for sale?
All posters surrounding our booths are NOT for sale and are for display purposes. Posters may be made available to purchase exclusively during guest appearances, as part of the guests' line of merchandise.
Do you do exchanges or refunds?
All sales are final. Each item is carefully inspected prior to purchase. We are not responsible for the condition of any item(s) once it has left the store. In the event of a product defect, please return the item along with the original receipt or proof of purchase either during the convention dates (Friday–Sunday) or within 5 days of delivery if the item was mailed. All refunds or exchanges requested will be evaluated at the discretion of the Store Manager. Please note Visual Kei Dreamer will not be responsible for any damages that occurs during shipping and handling caused by postal services or carriers.
The CD I want to buy has a crack on the case
Our staff will carefully inspect all items prior to handing them over to our customers during the conventions. If a CD case is found to be cracked, we will gladly provide an empty replacement case for you to use at home. As the CD itself remains unaffected, no refunds or discounts will be issued.
